  • Overview

    The Information Systems Specialist (Data, Integrations and Analytics Developer) will be a part of a technical team focused on building integrations, data warehouses and analytics for the university. The incumbent will use various tools to build and support integrations between systems at the university.

    Responsibilities

    As part of the Data, Integrations and Analytics Team:

    • Build and support various system-to-system integrations using Orion Rhapsody and other tools
    • Analyze end-user requirements for integration, reporting and analytics
    • Build data warehouses and reports to meet business requirements that are compliant to university privacy and security practices

    Qualifications

    • A post-secondary education in a related discipline, or equivalent education and experience
    • Ability to identify solution options and risks, and perform required technical analyses
    • Be effective and equally conversant in business and technical environments
    • Experience with industry standard RDBMS (MSSQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, etc.)
    • Experience developing and supporting integrations between complex business systems
    • Proficient in software development on the .Net platform
    • Experience working with system integrations/interfaces
    • Thorough understanding of RESTful API development and advanced Web Services
    • Proven ability to learn new tools and concepts quickly

    Assets:

    • Experience in data warehouse and business intelligence environments
    • Experience with dimensional data models, data integration (SSIS), data quality (DQS) and general Data Warehouse ETL best practices
    • Knowledge of statistical procedures and applied data validation mechanisms
    • Thorough knowledge of BI/DW concepts, best practices, methodologies and iterative development methodology
    • Experience developing applications in C# and .Net
