The Analyst provides consultative support to Federation of Students in the form of business analysis, process design and documentation, continuous process improvement and workflow analysis. 


This role is contingent on funding. 


Develop deep knowledge of existing service processes and procedures to execute strategic objectives:

  • Ensure service requirements are clearly understood, prioritized and communicated effectively
  • Ensure that process and procedure solutions delivered/supported are aligned with the needs of the organization or specific service units, as applicable
  • Ensure performance metrics support the strategic initiatives of the Federation of Students

Support service units in identifying project opportunities and efficiencies to achieve overall service objectives:

  • Develop strong working relationships within all Federation of Students departments, appropriate UW departments and business partners.
  • Liaise among stakeholder to elicit, analyze, communicate and validate requirements for changes to service processes and policies
  • Act as a change agent.  Train service teams on system changes, process improvements and change management activities and project management tools

Providing business intelligence analysis, design, development and maintenance of business/service processes, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement

  • Annual report that identifies areas of improvement/efficiencies and opportunities of development to advise on strategic objectives
  • In conjunction with appropriate Executive/GM and department manager, develop and maintain documentation for training documents to attain highest customer service levels throughout the organization
  • Work with Director Commercial Operations to set unit performance metrics based on business intelligence analysis

Work flow analysis

  • Review service and business processes and procedures to help enhance workflow
  • Work with management to review job responsibilities and alter employee and departmental tasks based on Federation of Students goals
  • Collaborate with Department/Unit managers to help find ways to create cost effective, service driven processes that will align with strategic objectives



  • Undergrad degree in related field and/or related experience
  • Minimum 2 years experience in data analysis, customer service, systems management, performance metrics, and business analysis
  • Demonstrated ability to present ideas logically and concisely to diverse audiences at all organizational levels, both verbally and in writing
  • Proven ability to use computer software and applications, including Microsoft Office and business analysis tools for data management, research, analysis and reporting purposes
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical ability
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to establish effective working relationships with business partners, supervisors and peers
  • Deep knowledge of Federation processes, supporting systems and infrastructure an asset
  • Some evenings and weekends may be required
