Overview

Term: 1 Year

 

The successful candidate for this position will contribute their skill and experience in IT business analysis and business process review to support of a variety of campus IT projects and initiatives, with a primary focus on student information systems.

Responsibilities

This role will be responsible for interviewing, eliciting, and facilitating sessions with clients to identify business needs and document clear and well-understood requirements; conducting process review sessions with a continuous improvement mindset; working with business units to define and develop business process documentation including flows, maps, and I/O diagrams; working with SMEs and test leads to ensure test scenarios and data are complete and appropriate; attending project team meetings (planning, scrum, demo, retro); and assisting in the development and estimation of a requirements backlog. This role will also be responsible for helping to develop a standardized BA method of practice, including the creation of a roadmap, defining guiding principles and standards, and writing templates and related documentation.

Qualifications

  • University degree or equivalent experience required
  • Minimum 3 years of full-time experience applying BA principles and practices in an IT environment, with demonstrated comprehensive knowledge of BABOK concepts and best practices
  • Knowledge of Agile project management tools and techniques from a business analysis perspective is required
  • Knowledge of user story and use case development required
  • Preference to candidates with BA experience in a Higher-Ed or government organization
  • Strong analytic skills and creative approach to problem solving required
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex ideas through writing and public speaking, and visually represent abstract concepts in diagrams and presentations
  • Experience engaging and maintaining relationships with subject matter experts and stakeholders at a variety of levels
  • Exposure to PMI project management, Agile development, Lean process improvement, and IT Service Management (ITIL) strongly preferred
  • Advanced office productivity skills with MS Office tools, including SharePoint and Visio
